Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

Why should I do this course?
The Certificate III in Health Services Assistance is designed to assist people who want to find employment in a hospital, aged care facility or a client home by teaching the skills required to be a Health Services Assistant or Personal Carer.
Participants will develop skills including:
- Great verbal and written communication as well as understanding the importance of body language;
- Correct manual handling skills;
- Understanding Occupational Health & Safety in the workplace;
- Teamwork;
- Managing conflict;
- How to provide excellent customer service to your clients;
- Activities of Daily Living Needs ;
- Understanding how to keep the body healthy; and
- Client movement techniques.
There are 15 modules in the program combining a mixture of theory and practical activities with opportunities for real life work experience at one of the many aged care facilities in Perth.
General Course Information
How long is the course?
The course runs for 9 weeks. Participants will study 24 hours per week which is set over 4 days (Monday to Thursday).
How much is the course?
In order to be eligible for this free training you must meet the following requirements:
- English must not be your first language;
- Have permanent Australian Citizenship;
- Have an active and valid Healthcare Card and Job Seeker ID Number/Card; and
- Have no formal qualifications above a Certificate IV level.
