Migrants graduate as health support practitioners
Building Employment Pathways for Humanitarian Migrants
Centacare recently heald a graduation ceremony at the Wellington Street Office, to celebrate the graduation of students from non English speaking backgrounds in the Certificate III Health Services Assistance course. It was a proud day for the graduates, as well as their teachers and the community.
Centacare’s innovative approach, combining language support with theory and practical training means that participants are offered maximum support in order to successfully complete their training.
The course is conducted over ten weeks and includes two weeks of work experience. Work experience forms a vital part of the course as it not only gives the participants real working life experience but has proven to be a valuable source of employment.
Quote by a participant:
“I feel myself lucky to have undertaken this course with such a nice organisation. I wish Centacare the very best and hope it will keep up it’s reputation and continue to deliver good training. It will definitely help in my career and many people like me”
