Social Enterprise fires up a needed international discussion
Critical conversation around the status and purpose of Social Enterprises around the world provided exciting debate at the second Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) in Melbourne this Month.
Centacare Employment and Training participated in this event, sending a delegate to Melbourne for the week, to join the emerging Australian social enterprise movement. Successful enterprises were showcased and profile’s of social enterprise’s in the region and around the world were raised.
As a result, the organisation is now looking into initiatives that can help shape business models and structures to better accommodate for the development of social enterprises, especially in changing commercial markets and through the development of innovative partnerships around investment. The conference also took a notably unconventional format, which added to the energy and capacity of delegates to think and link outside the square.

In an effort to collaborate more widely across the community, Centacare is now welcoming interest from organisations who wish to continue this conversation. With over 33 years experience in WA as a not-for-profit organisation, providing training and employment solutions to the community - Centacare is eager to connect with individuals and organisations to further enterprising initiatives towards improving the whole community in Western Australia.
