Special Projects:
Community Resilience
Centacare has committed to a number of initiatives that recognise a healthy community requires a combined effort of individuals. Any individual has the right to expect their community will provide them the support required to function as a society, making it then the communities’ responsibility to build itself in an accessible and inclusive way. Centacare works in areas where there are weaknesses in this.
Centacare‘s efforts are targeted towards creating opportunities for individuals or groups to connect and network in a way that enables the exchange and leverage of knowledge. By increasing the broader knowledge of the community and enabling purposeful and strategic connections that promote the exchange of critical understandings, we are better able to serve the community. Consequently Centacare prioritises projects that increase understanding across different groups and networks within the community through the sharing of information, skills, experiences, understanding and knowledge.
Initiatives with the Australian Study Circles Network since 2007 has proven valuable, along with influential connections with Sociocracy Australia.
