Centacare Ageing Course Students Share Their Positive Experiences

Centacare would like to wish a big congrtulations to the students who recently completed their Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)! The class recently attended a special morning tea to celebrate their achievement and several students shared their stories and experiences of the course.

“I think the course is really, really great. Our trainer, Julie, is just a bag full of knowledge. She gave us so many small tricks that I used all the time during my work prac.

Centacare has been great and so supportive. Even though I’m not on Centrelink, I cannot afford to pay the whole thing but the payment is so flexible. Even after finishing my class they do not force me to pay the lump sum and I am still able to pay it off gradually.

I also had a personal crisis during work prac and I ended up in tears. I called Julie [our trainer] on the way home and she stopped and talked to me and consoled me. Then I made an appointment with Andrea, the counsellor, and she has been very supportive. I highly recommend Centacare to everyone.”

“I found the course really good. I got a lot of experience and learned so much. I’m so glad I chose to do this course because I know there are so many other choices and pathways I can take now.

I’d like to get a job from this, and perhaps pursue other pathways like enrolled nursing. There are so many opportunities later on down the track but at the moment I’d really like to find work and get a bit more experience.

I would recommend Centacare to a lot of people; they give you the best experience and teach you a lot of knowledge that you’ll have for the rest of your life. I’d tell anyone if they want to do this course then join up, you’ll have a good time. It was a very good experience.”
