Centacare Proudly Receives DFES Volunteer Employer Recognition Award

Centacare Employment and Training is very proud to be the recipient of a Volunteer Employer Recognition Award from the Western Australian Government Department of Fire & Emergency Services (DFES).

Centacare’s Chair, Gwen Wood, represented the organisation at the award ceremony, alongside our IT & Facilities Manager and volunteer firefighter, Doug Bell.

Doug has been a dedicated Lieutenant and Training Officer at his local fire brigade for almost 5 years. Doug regularly presents to our students here at Centacare about summer bushfire safety and volunteering within fire services.

Doug has attended several serious fire incidents over the last few years and Centacare has readily allowed him the flexibility he needed in order to deal with those situations.

We are very proud to support Doug as a volunteer firefighter and would like to sincerely thank both he and DFES for all the hard work they do for our state.
